Fashion week à la latin style. Continuing with the NYFW influence and looking ahead towards SS20, TLL wants to show you a trend that latin American designers and brands have skillfully mastered and have been able to play with, beautifully. Puffy sleeves. Every article ever on the internet that covers NYFW19 touches on the subject of huge poufs as sleeves. While this à la mode trend was amazingly executed by many renowned designers, I want to show you how local designers have been playing with sleeves for out-of-this world pieces that you'll want in your wardrobe ASAP.
Here are some of my favorites:

These are just some designers that have been playing with asymmetry and volume to achieve glamorous sleeves. Alexandra Bueno and Leal Daccarett are some of my favorite - they've skillfully broken uniformity and proportion in their pieces without losing the harmony and femininity that characterizes them. My favorite Alexandra Bueno pieces from her Pan y Canela collection are the Alama Dress and the Isidora XL Sleeve Top. I dream of wearing them to a special night out and watching heads turn at the powerful simplicity of the puffy sleeve trend. Leal Daccarett, a brand founded in 2008 by a married designer couple, also takes risks. They have achieved international recognition for their overstated figures and elegant designs. I love their balloon sleeved tops and dramatic cape sleeves. Find them on Instagram and through luxury e-commerce giant Moda Operandi, TheRealReal, FarFetch and soon through their website!
As we saw on NYFW this month, puff sleeves are still very much in-style, so don't be afraid to go out-there with your fashion choices this fall. Pair short puffy shoulder tops with printed long sleeves to make a statement, or find your favorite XL-sleeved sweater to brave the cold in style. I want to hear from my lovely TLL readers: Are you loving this trend or is it "too much"? Let us know in the comments and as always, thank you for reading!
With love,
Isa
